In 2007, the Energy Performance Certificate was introduced to specify in detail the energy efficiency of each individual building and living space in the EU, and the above graphic is a visual aid used to understand it a bit more simply. The Energy Performance Certificate and its accompanying graphic is compulsorily available in the EU to prospective buyers and renters for every building and living space.
